"French charm and excellent value" Never fails to delight! We went
there for a light lunch before going to a matinee at the Theatre Royal - it's
very close by. The service was really friendly, patient and helpful. Can't wait
for another visit to Bath and an opportunity to return.
"Little Gem" I had a wonderful evening last night. The food was
amazing, great atmosphere and excellent wine list. Thoroughly recommend it. My
wife and I can't wait to go back. Thank you La Barrique and all the staff.
"Original format, excellent service" Went there with a couple of
French friends who have very demanding palates. They loved it and for me it was
an amazing introduction into French cuisine. The service also made a huge
difference, really pleased with the whole thing.
"A day in Bath, lunch in France" The food is excellent,
traditionally French, but served tapas style; a stroke of culinary genius. The
prices won't dent your pocket either. Staff are charming. Go there, c'est
magnifique!
"Fabulous tapas bar in theatre district" We shared pre-theatre
tapas at this intimate bistro and everything we had was delicious. The potatoes
au gratin are sinful. Good wine list and very attentive service. They have a
good pre-theatre special.
"Something for everyone" Impressed with this resturant every time
I've been. Each visit is unique, with a range of French tapas that would keep
anyone coming back for more. As one of the few independent restaurants left in
the area this place earns and deserves support ... an experience hard to find
elsewhere.
"Always a great experience" Menu is always imaginative, the service
excellent. If you are a regular, resist the temptation to order what you love
most and try something different. If you are a new visitor, try as many tapas as
you can ... you will also become a regular!
"Cannot Praise Highly Enough" What a find! Small but perfect
restaurant; French with a twist! The owner was so accommodating, even writing
his recipes down for me to take home. Would highly recommend you to try this
one.
"Always lovely food & friendly service" Dined several times in this
restaurant and keep going back with friends as the food is always inventive, the
service friendly and efficient. Great value for money with a lovely relaxing
atmosphere. Pre-theatre service is particularly efficient. Everyone I've taken
there has enjoyed it too.
"Best in Bath" Doesn't look very special from the outside - it's
not as flashy as many restaurants in Bath - but don't be put off. It is superb
and without question the best place I've eaten in the city. In the summer, sit
outside; the garden is beautiful.
"Beautiful Tastes of France" Had never tried tapas-style French
cuisine, but loved the concept, and the food delivered with every mouthful.
Slow-cooked meat dishes were exceptionally good; tender and flavoursome. Sauces
were beautiful. We loved it so much we made another booking before we left.
